Dortmunder Blankstahl GmbH: Markus Birkmann successfully steers Dortmunder Blankstahl through transfer restructuring

BBL partner Markus Birkmann was appointed provisional insolvency administrator for Dortmunder Blankstahl GmbH in January 2021 and insolvency proceedings began on April 1, 2021. The reasons for this action are primarily connected to the Corona pandemic. Initially, demand from the automotive supplier industry collapsed, which led to the company suffering from liquidity bottlenecks. This problem was then compounded by a scarcity of raw materials, which in themselves were also expensive. The future of the company and the almost 80 employees was secured by transfer restructuring to the steel manufacturer ArcelorMittal.
