LaserTag GmbH files for insolvency in self-administration with BBL

19. Februar 2018

Business operations continue without restriction – Salaries of 78 employees secured until 31 March – Restructuring envisaged through insolvency plan proceedings

Frankfurt a. M., 19 February 2018. On 29 January 2018, at the request of LaserTag GmbH, the Hanau Local Court decided on the insolvency of the company under its own administration. The court has appointed the lawyer Dr. Alexander Hoepfner from BBL Bernsau Brockdorff as the provisional trustee of the company with 78 employees. Together with the restructuring consultant and lawyer Thomas Rittmeister from the Frankfurt office of the law firm Reimer Rechtsanwälte and the LaserTag management, he will now work on a restructuring solution based on an insolvency plan.

„We see good opportunities for a positive outcome of the project“, said Hoepfner. „In the past, the fundamentally solidly positioned company has made a few but momentous mistakes. Their consequences could now possibly be healed by an insolvency plan.“ Restructuring consultant Rittmeister also shows optimism: „By retaining the company, we can probably achieve a better result for the creditors than by liquidation. Therefore, there should be a high degree of willingness to reach an agreement.“

LaserTag GmbH operates eight so-called laser tag venues in Hanau, Würzburg, Aschaffenburg, Regensburg, Leipzig, Halle, Bochum and Hamburg. In these rooms, visitors engage in non-violent battles in darkened rooms and try to mark each other with laser guns.

LaserTag GmbH is the national market leader in its segment and employs 78 people. Their salaries will be covered by the bankruptcy money of the Federal Labour Office until March 31, 2018. The proceedings are scheduled to open on 1 April 2018. Hoepfner and Rittmeister hope to be able to finish the proceeding by autumn of this year.
