Solarservice Norddeutschland: reorganisation successfully completed

Solarservice Norddeutschland Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG, based in Burgdorf near Hanover, filed for restructuring in self-administration with the competent local court in Gifhorn in June 2025. This was due to a downturn in the photovoltaic market, which led to declining revenues and the erosion of previously achievable margins. Delays and cost overruns in completing the new company headquarters further exacerbated the situation. As a result, the company encountered liquidity difficulties.

Management was supported in the self-administration proceedings by lawyers Dr Christoph Weber, Dr Oliver Damerius and Christoph Granse of BBL, as well as by the consultancy Dresen Mall (Gunnar Dresen and Dr Philip Lattreuter). The Gifhorn District Court appointed lawyer Dr Malte Köster as provisional custodian. Business operations continued without restriction, while the restructuring was planned in parallel and the possibility of a sale as part of a restructuring involving a transfer was also explored.

After the creditors’ meeting approved the insolvency plan prepared by BBL at the end of December 2025, the Gifhorn District Court confirmed it and lifted the insolvency proceedings with effect from 19 February 2026. Solarservice Norddeutschland is now run solely by the previous shareholder, Thomas Rey, and restructured on the basis of the insolvency plan. For this purpose, Sparkasse Osnabrück granted a restructuring loan, which ensures that business operations can be maintained even during months with seasonally weaker demand.

Founded in 2013, Solarservice Norddeutschland Vertriebs GmbH & Co. KG offers the design, installation and maintenance of photovoltaic systems for private and commercial customers. Since 2025, its range of services has also included heat pumps. The company employs around 50 people.
