The Berlin forwarding company Kanitz, known primarily for orchestra transport services is to be taken over by Berlin Scholz Umzuege Moebelspedition GmbH as part of a transferred restructuring. However, it will continue to operate under its well-known brand name Kanitz. The purchase contract was drawn up by the buyer company owner, Rainer Scholz, and the insolvency administrator, Dr Florian Linkert and was signed retrospectively to March 15, 2021. Scholz’s offer proved successful after investors were approached as part of a structured sales process. The core business of Kanitz, in particular the transport services for orchestras, which had slipped into the crisis in the wake of the Corona pandemic, is to be continued with part of the previous core team. The traditional firm Gerhard Kanitz KG Speditions- und Moebeltransportgesellschaft mbH & Co. filed for insolvency at the district court in Charlottenburg on December 15, 2020, following a downturn in orders since the spring of that year. The procedure was opened on March 1, 2021 and ended with the signing of the purchase contract.
